Convergence is a gathering of felt makers and sharing knowledge is the underlying theme. It is four full days of immersion and indulgence in every aspect of felt making suitable for all levels of experience. Anyone interested in felt making and textiles should attend. There is no need to belong to a formal textile organisation or felting group. Just come along, learn, share, felt and have fun.

The Scarf - The Practical Accessory

We have been so busy felting that we have just picked up our May issue of Notebook Magazine.  Turn to page 96 to read their article on "4 Party Poopers Fixed With One Garment". They recommend carrying a lightweight scarf or wrap in your evening purse to solve all those potential disasters that can descend on us at parties to ruin our most fabulous self.

Notebook hazards include sauce and wine splashes, cold shoulders, hair disasters and wardrobe malfunctions.  The solution of course is to whisk out your wrap and voila, gorgeous again.

I saw the top two fabulous wraps on your other felt blog, well worth seeing again but your wrap Jacqui is wonderful. I have recently aquired a hand dyed dress in those colours from British weaver, dyer, textile and fashion designer( to give all titles) Jasmine Hixson.

Ahhh, Jasmine Hixson, master of all things woven. You are a lucky lady Helen Morris. Jacqui Gibson's wrap is currently for sale at the National Wool Museum's Scarf Festival.

Fabulous scarves and wraps, seems so strange you are preparing for winter and we are heralding in our wet summer!

Hi Nicola, yes we are into our cooler months now. Over in the east and Tasmania things get quite cold and there can be quite a bit of snow, but here in our part of Western Australia we have a Mediterranean climate with mild wet winters. We’ll resist making any comparisons with your summer! It all makes good felting weather.
