Convergence is a gathering of felt makers and sharing knowledge is the underlying theme. It is four full days of immersion and indulgence in every aspect of felt making suitable for all levels of experience. Anyone interested in felt making and textiles should attend. There is no need to belong to a formal textile organisation or felting group. Just come along, learn, share, felt and have fun.

World of WearableArt Awards Show 2010 Continued

The WOW World of WearableArt show is a fabulous event which is one that should be on everyone's "must do" list.  The artists get to mingle with the models and meet their fellow artists and here is our felter, WOW 2010 exhibitor and 11th Southern Hemisphere Committee Member - Kerry Gelmi with this wonderful creation of Sean Purucker (USA) titled "Put a Cork in It".

This was an entry into WOW's "Open Section" (see our last post for more information on the Open Section) and is made of cork, resin, fabric, plastic, foam, glass.

Can you imagine having a conversation with this?  It represents "awkward moments when you have a slip of the tongue.  Sometimes it's better not speak".

We certainly identify with the sentiment - perhaps that's why we love this one so much?
