Traders Hall Update - New Trader - Rock View Alpacas

Things are getting busy in the Traders Hall and we are very pleased to welcome Rock View Alpacas to provide you with all the lovely soft alpaca that you need to create the softest warmest lightest garment ever.

Keen felter Maureen Foss runs Rock View and  has been building up their herd for several years now.

The softest, whitest fibres come from the baby alpaca, and they are cute too.

Maureen's alpacas have won prizes in shows Australia wide as has her alpaca felting.

Alpaca requires a slightly different felting technique so Maureen will be on hand to demonstrate techniques and give some tips and she'll have plenty of lovely alpaca for sale including batts.

Surprised?  Not what you expected?  You shouldn't be.  After all, this is the 11th Southern Hemisphere Felting Convergence 2011 Blog so fabulous felt is the theme.

Meet Disney -

Yes he's the most gorgeous prize winning alpaca and his fleece created the beautiful wrap at the beginning of this post.

Alpaca creates delightful soft felt.  It takes a little longer to work with but the luxurious result is worth the little extra effort.

Disney and his family live at Rock View Alpacas in Harvey, Western Australia.  It looks a fun place -

What are they doing?  Looks like they are watching TV  - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs perhaps?  Bambi?  - no that's too sad.

Actually, we are told it was a really hot day and the door was open so they came in and stood in front of the air conditioner!
